The Regions of Alesseia
Alesseia is divided into seven different regions: Pringan, Akiluran, Ramog, Vintga, Sorenair, Atlantis, and Carinor. As the regions are color-coded, they are normally arranged in the order of a rainbow's colors (ex. Pringan is red, so it is typically first). However, as Carinor is the capital region, it may be located in the first position instead.
Carinor
Carinor is the smallest land-based region of Alesseia. Symbolized by the colors violet and pink, it is located in the center of Alesseia. It is considered the capital of Alesseia, with many historic battles having been fought within the region. It is host to Maharlika Palace, the location of the supreme ruler of Alesseia. It is the most technologically advanced out of all the regions. Many Alesseians have migrated to Carinor for better work opportunities. Notable cities include Kwintna (the capital city of Carinor), Tessens, and Sevon City.
The current ruling family is the Cyrus dynasty. As they are the family that rules the capital region, they are also the ruling family for all of Alesseia. Symbolized by a violet emblem marked with the symbol for "nothingness," the Cyruses are known for coming from unlikely sources of magical potential. They are known for having the capability to give magic to other people or even entire bloodlines, enough to change their caste. Those who are blessed with Cyrus magic are marked by their bright golden eyes.
The former ruling family, the extinct Cepheus dynasty, was the opposite. Marked with a pink symbol for "seven," they had all of Alesseia's power. They possessed the ability to control every type of magic given enough training. They were natural prodigies with an innate feel for magic. Prior to the end of their line, there were more Cepheus rulers in Alesseia's history than there were Cyruses. All those with the powers of a Cepheus are marked by their pink eyes.
The current ruler of Carinor and Alesseia is Queen Mareyna Elspeth Cyrus. She is currently a widow, her only husband and only child having both died in a castle raid.
Pringan
Pringan is the eastern region. It contains most wildlife preservation centers and popular tourist spots for those who like beauty and nature. They're quite fond of art, with a lot of famous creators and entertainers coming from this region. Notable cities include Rebibon (the capital city of Pringan), Biyuganda, and Kariktan.
The emblem of Pringan is a stylized flower. Combining the aesthetics of both the lily and the rose, it represents the variety of beautiful life that can be found in Pringan. While the most common magic types are life-based, the type of life magic can vary from individual to individual. The emblem uses the color red, one of the two major colors for life.
The current ruling family is the Amadeus line. The current ruler is Queen Ixora Amadeus. She has eight children, the heir to the throne being Nerium Amadeus.
Akiluran
Akiluran is the western region. It's filled with traditional cities and much of Alesseian history is generally preserved here. Ancient magic tends to be highly regarded here, and they have some of the best magical facilities, second to only Carinor’s. Notable cities include Langshi (the capital city of Akiluran), Lobomachi, and Siningchi.
Akiluran is the most spiritual region. Unlike most regions, which lost most of their myths to time, Akiluran has retained a lot of their stories and traditions. Many rituals and fiestas are celebrated in Akiluran. For example, the Fiesta de Langshi is an annual celebration of the celestial beings. When two twins of sun and moon magic are born, they are brought to the city of Langshi and heralded as the Celestial Twins.
The emblem of Akiluran is a stylized house with a symbol meaning "tree." That is due to Akiluran's castle being carved out of the biggest tree in all of Alesseia. It is colored orange to symbolize the vitality of life and the balance of the more powerful (red) and intelligent (yellow) aspects of life.
The current ruling family is the Hashimotus line. The current ruler is King Makoto Hashimotus. He has two children, the heir to the throne being Kaede Hashimotus.
Ramog
Ramog is the largest region of Alesseia in terms of landmass. It is located to the south of Carinor. It is dominated by plains and rice fields, as mountains to the east of the region help prevent typhoons from destroying the flora and fauna in the region. Several plantations and factories are built here. Notable cities include Liyon (the capital city of Ramog), Arawan, and Libraklat.
The emblem of Ramog is a stylized house with a circle in the center of the house. The circle represents the circle of life and how everything has a place in the world. It is colored yellow as yellow is the color of brightness and intelligence, as well as the color for gold.
The current ruling family is the Horus line. The current ruler is King Montu Horus. He has three children, the heir to the throne being Hathor Horus.
Vintga
Vintga is the northern region of Alesseia. It's a mountainous region with harsh winters. It is the only region where it snows. It is where the highest peaks in Alesseia, including Mount Tangkad, is located. There are fewer cities here, most of the settlements being small towns and villages. Notable cities include Hestabayo (the capital city of Vintga), Niyebe, and Isyelo.
The most common magic types here are life-based. Another common magic type is mineral-based, for extracting the riches within the mountains in Vintga. Common exports include coffee, strawberries, and mining products, such as various metals and gemstones.
The emblem of Ramog is a stylized house with its roof stretching over the house. It represents the ruling family, meant to take care and shelter all those who need them. It is colored green, one of the main colors of life, for the Vinch are great worshippers of nature.
The current ruling family is the Koszorus line. The current ruler is Queen Lilia Koszorus. She has six children, the heir to the throne being Yuri Koszorus.
Sorenair
Sorenair is a group of floating islands that levitates around three thousand meters above the region of Carinor. Holding a population of around five hundred people, it is the smallest region in Alesseia in terms of both landmass and population.
The terrain in Sorenair is unique. The "ground" has been flattened over time to suit the needs of the people in contrast to the rocky exterior at the bottom of the island. The land is very much infertile; very few plants grow here, the biggest ones being shrubs. Almost all animals that live here are small in size and capable of flight such as birds and bats. Due to the lack of arable land, they rely heavily on imported goods from the lands below. Waste is deposited into the landfills below using portals.
The islands of Sorenair are kept in the air due to a device known as the Atlas Construct. The Atlas Construct strengthens the magical prowess of the current ruling family and allows them to spread their magic throughout the islands. The current ruling family, the Ventus dynasty, also utilize their air magic to protect the island from storms. They provide protection to the lower regions from storms using the Atlas Construct as well. This is considered their main source of income as the islands have few export goods. However, the few export goods they have tend to be valuable in nature.
The emblem for Sorenair is a blue archaic symbol meaning "air." It is colored blue for the color of the sky.
The current ruler of Sorenair is King Galahad Ventus. He is currently married to Isolde Ventus and they have one child, Rowena Ventus. Another title for the Soren ruler is the Sovereign Skylight.
Very few commoner humans live here; the high altitude and extremely cold climate are unfavorable for the commoner body. Instead, the main human species are the endemic Sorens.
Atlantis
Atlantis is an underwater region. Located to the west of Ramog and the south of Akiluran, it is a series of floating settlements over the Atlantean Reef. Hosting nearly five thousand people, it is the second smallest region in terms of population.
The floating settlements are magically reinforced structures made of metal and concrete. They float on top of the coral reef using a series of levitation devices while being chained to the ground. They also use magic and technology to keep the floating settlements stable.
Atlantis does the majority of aquaculture exports in Alesseia. They tend to import any other resources.
The emblem of Atlantis is an indigo symbol that mixes together the symbols for fisherman and fish. It is colored indigo for the color of the sea.
The current ruling family is the Aquarius line. They are the strongest line of water magicians, capable of manipulating large amounts of water in all forms. The current ruler of Atlantis is Queen Eurybia Aquarius. She is currently a widow with four children, the heir to the Atlantean throne being Psamathe Aquarius.
Very few commoner humans live in Atlantis as the majority of commoners cannot breathe underwater. Instead, the main human species are the endemic Atlanteans.
Dalisay Regions
cMagic is inherently part of the world. However, some people have chosen to reject magic, saying that magic creates only destruction and division among people. These people have isolated themselves into nonmagical regions surrounded by barriers. These towns are called dalisay places and the people within are known as the dalisay (singular: dalisay). Dalisay refers to an old Aleseya word meaning "pure" for magically pure.
The barriers prevent people from entering and leaving the region. They do such by repelling the magic within people. There are two ways to enter and exit the barriers: 1) using a sufficiently high amount of magic to weaken the barrier, and 2) to be sufficiently weak enough in magic that the barrier has incredibly little to repel. Animals and plants are capable of entering without any trouble.
Nearby Countries
Alesseia is located in the continent of Vashya. The neighboring countries include Kenliot (composed of commoners, elves, dwarves, and halflings), Melorai (commoners, sirens, and merfolk), Sylfendel (commoners and faeries), and Tarntiale (commoners and trolls).
