The Natural World

Plants

All plants are imbued with life magic, some having healing properties while others are destructive. All plants are incapable of thought. In contrast, some studies have shown that they may be capable of primitive emotional empathy.

Animals

An animal is a term used to refer to non-humanoid animal-like species without souls. All animals are classified under Kingdom Animaio. These animals tend to have primitive or weak magic. For example, fire ants are only capable of producing a small amount of fire that leaves a pin-sized burn. Unlike humanoids and creatures, their magic tends to be the same throughout the whole species.

Creatures

A creature is a term used to refer to non-humanoid animal-like species with souls. All creatures are classified under Kingdom Feralimaw. Examples include dragons, phoenixes, sphinxes, unicorns, cetaceans, octopi, dogs, cats, and corvids. Some of these creatures are capable of primitive telepathy in order to communicate. They can be taught to think in sentences and words so that they may communicate with humans. Other terms for creatures may include monsters and beasts.

The subject is under heavy debate. While these creatures have been documented to show that they're capable of thought and identity, trademark characteristics of having a soul, their souls cannot be found in the Realm of Lost Souls. There are organizations that are against the idea of creatures as a whole, stating that they do not have true souls and that there should be no differentiation between them and animals.

Humans

A human is defined as any bipedal species with a soul. The most common human species is the commoner, which can be found on all continents. In Alesseia, there are two additional native species of humanoids found in the country: Sorens and Atlanteans.
